Dr. med. Janina Maluck

My name is Dr Janina Maluck; I am a specialist in orthopaedics and trauma surgery and have over 10 years’ clinical experience in surgery.

During my time at the hospital, I realised early on that musculoskeletal disorders often do not occur in isolation. In particular, patients with lipoedema frequently develop significant orthopaedic symptoms and secondary complications over time. I treated many of these women during my time at the hospital – often without a clear diagnosis or targeted treatment for their underlying condition.

This condition is still frequently underestimated or insufficiently recognised in the medical field. For many patients, this means a long and painful ordeal, characterised by uncertainty, physical symptoms and, often, psychological distress. The effects on the musculoskeletal system often lead those affected to seek help from an orthopaedic specialist first. That is precisely where I have encountered them over many years.

These experiences prompted me to study the condition of lipoedema in depth. I realised just how great the need is for education, understanding and specialised treatment.
At the LipoClinic, the focus is on an approach that is often neglected in everyday clinical practice: time for the patient. During a detailed initial consultation, I have the opportunity to fully understand the individual situation, clarify any questions and work together to develop a clear treatment plan.
